I watched the first 30 minutes with my wife. She was interested in seeing it. I then excused myself and took a nap. Horrible writing, terrible acting, sad costuming... just awful... I don't think those actors could read their own names with sincerity... Though the cleavage was nice...

I have no idea why, but I found myself oddly captivated by this series. Looking back on it, I can't say it was great. But I really wanted to watch it to know how it ended. Go figure. My wife rather liked it.

I thought is was pretty good. The visuals were the best part. As for the ending I saw it coming from the middle of part two. The best review I saw that sums up my feelings is that it would have been a great 2 part (4 hour) mini-series.

Overall I felt it was good but not great. I think it was inconsistent. Sometimes it was good and other times not. Even the acting was uneven. I'm not sure if that was the fault of the actors or the writers. I was let down by the ending. I think it should have resolved more.

Good points. For me I think the director could have done much better at certain times. I really believe the unevenness was due to his failure at pushing the actors to engage with greater intensity -- especially the reunions between father-son, father-daughter, and wife-husband. I mean, talk about drab!

And, yes, I felt the same way about the ending. Very lame and it could have been so much more satisfying if things were better resolved.

That being said, I still enjoyed the series and I thought a number of the concepts were very, very well done.

I enjoyed it a lot. But still, far too much re-imagination going on. I think I would have liked it a bit more if more of the original book made it into Tin Man.

Still it was a fun viewing. I like the intermittent homages to the original movie. The Gray Gale for instance. It was a reimagination that tried to also be a distant sequel-of-sorts.
