Nope. Started with basic, then went to 2nd edition. (Though I did buy a couple of 1st edition books by accident and got very confused).

I started playing in the winter of 1988. As far as I remember, our DM used a mish-mash of late 1E AD&D, Basic D&D, and weirdo house rules. We played that way once or twice and switched to 2E when it came out the next year.

I started roleplaying on the orange binders about the time unearthed arcana came out...1985 or 86.

I started with the Moldvay Basic D&D box in early '82, but switched to AD&D by May of that year, and played it fairly heavily from then until early '89, when 2E came out.

I think I've played all but original and rules cyclopedia. So really just a couple of varieties of Basic, 1E, 2E, 2E with Player's Option, 3E, and 3.5E.
