To play, or not to play.....that is the question.

Mod Note:

This is what a post from a moderator looks like. In general, we ask folks not to respond to them in-thread. And the moderation staff will not publicly discuss specific acts of moderation in public either. If you have questions, we ask you to take them to Private Messages with the Moderator(s) of your choice.

I think the #1 unwritten guideline that we can probably mention is - Don't make it personal. In general we ask folks to address the logic and content of a post, without making it about the person who posted it. This extends to accusing folks of lying, being disingenuous, or posting "in bad faith".

This is because any of those things will tend to distract away from the actual content, and lead to an ego-based conflict between the speakers, which benefits nobody.

Constantly calling it "Big Dragon" will likely bias how some people react to you.
Ah, another bit of etiquette - when quoting someone, give attribution. The reply button on a comment will automatically do this (it's what I used here), or there's various mark-ups. There's also a "quote" button, and you can insert one or more quoted comments in the bottom area to add a comment.

Does that have a negative connotation I am unaware of? I thought it was just for ppl who do not like to use the actual name.
Comes across like "Big Pharma' or "Big Oil", playing off D&D being the 800-lb gorilla in the room. I've never heard it before in a generic non-biased usage. Just about every "I'm not ever going to dignify this by calling it by it's name" like 'Ampersand' or 'Big Dragon' seems like it can be taken pejoratively on top of that. Not that it is meant pejoratively, just that it can be taken that way.

Welcome.

Lofty goal. How does your system stand out? It is a d20 system, a dice pool system, a d100 system, a 2d6 or 3d6 system, a diceless system, a card base system?
It uses a variety of dice, including 4d6 for stats, take the best 3, 3d6 for senses take the best 2, Attack rolls are, percentage, crits are d30, and optionally you can do challenge mode instead of easy for more exp and using a d30 for rolls. My systems description is under my new feed, as I do not wish to spam everyone. I hope to see you there.
