Huh. That is honestly pretty discouraging in terms of caring about D&D going forward.

Especially since they are hiring externally for leadership of the D&D team instead of promoting. If they hire old dudes that have already put their stamp on D&D to lead the team, and/or lay off the few diverse designers they have, I’ll probably just move away from the game.

As long as any new hire has the needed skills at the desirable level, I don't care if they are a purple mushroom creature from Saturn.

Good for you.

There are people with the necessary skills at the desirable level within every demographic, new and old. Hiring the same four guys that wrote 3e or whatever instead of promoting brilliant people already on the team is lazy and stifling.

So please don’t use my post to wave your flag around declaring your supposed disinterest. Thanks.

Excuse me for believing that skill and ability should be the determinate before other concerns.
