Before Kyle Chandler starred in the current NBC hit Friday Night Lights, he came to everyone's attention with the 1996 CBS series Early Edition, where his character ("Gary Hobson") would get tomorrow's newspaper today, and see a story about a tragedy that he would then have to prevent. The show lasted 4 seasons, and gained a HUGE following...including enough voters here at TVShowsOnDVD to make this the current 7th-most-wanted series that is not yet released on DVD!
Rest easy, because another top ten item here at TSoD is on the way. We've gotten exclusive early word, leaked by our friends in the retail industry, telling us that CBS/Paramount is planning a June 24th release of Early Edition - Season 1 for DVD! The set would have 23 episodes, including the pilot, and include beautiful co-star Shanesia Davis(-Williams) and guest stars like Felicity Huffman, Jane Krakowski, Cynthia Nixon, Fyvush Finkel, James Tolkan, Peri Gilpin, M. Emmet Walsh, Neil Flynn, Kathy Najimy, Roger Ebert, Marion Ross, Robert Picardo and William Devane.
No further details are available just yet, but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted as developments occur. Please also keep in mind that this is unofficial and not yet formally announced, and is therefore subject to change...but we feel pretty good about the info we're passing along, considering the past accuracy of our anonymous source!
