Toolbars on Internet Explorer

I've got three additional toolbars set up, in addition to Standard and Address Bar. (Yahoo, eBay, and Google, if anyone is interested. )

The trouble is, no matter how many times I get them set up just how I want them, next time I open IE, the five toolbars compress to fill three rows, meaning half of the buttons I want are off-screen.

Is there any way to convince IE that yes, dammit, I want them that way?

Have you tried lock toolbars in IE6?

Yup. I thought that would work, too.

Instead, all I got was a jumbled mess, but now I had to unlock the toolbars before repositioning them.

Okay, now it's working. Of course. The minute I seek help, things start to work again.
