In addition to the Core books, I'd bring:

A Game of Thrones RPG
World's Largest Dungeon
Iron Heroes
Arcan Evolved
Oathbound

I have yet to read any of the above. I imagine they would keep me busy for a while.

Tough Call

In addition to my tyvek core books I would probably take 5 custom books each about 900 pages

1 .alt spell book (maybe the new 3.5 compendium and 5 or so magic systems )

1 .alt monster book ( something custom with 900 or so pages)

1 .alt class book (a custom smasttering of feats, new and variant classes and needed expansions)

1 .alt rules book (a medely of social, kingdom, mass commbat and other sorts of rules)

1 .alt genere book (rules and info for Blue Rose, Conan, and every other cool style I want to try -- call it 900+ pages)

I was sure I posted this before, but here goes:

1) Monsternomicon
2) Chaositech
3) Slarecian Legacy
4) Iron Kingdoms World Guide
5) Iron Kingdoms Campaign Guide

Not my top 5 all time favorites, but great tools for one campaign. No adventures listed here, as I'm assuming I'd have plenty of time to create these...

And if I ever found myself stranded a second time  :
1) Midnight MK2
2) Crown of Shadow
3) Fury of Shadow
4) Minions of Shadow
5) City of Shadow

Or a third  :
1) Freeport City book
2) Freeport Trilogy
3) Black Sails over Freeport
4) Creatures of Freeport
5) Seafarers Handbook

And goodness forbid, a fourth

1) Arcana Evolved
2) Legacy of the Dragons
3) Draconomicon
4) Ptolus ( it should be out by then eh? )
5) Expanded Psionic Handbook

Needing a new mode of transportation by now:

1) Shackled City Adventure Path
2) Book of the Righteous
3) Dynasties and Demagogues
4) Grimsooths Traps
5) Book of Fiends

I guess Eberron might be fun too:

1) Eberron Campaign Setting
2) Races of Eberron
3) Five Nations
4) Explorers Handbook
5) Bastions Airships

  • Monster Manual II
  • Monster Manual III
  • World's Largest Dungeon
  • Unearthed Arcana
  • Advanced Bestiary

If I had a laptop, I'd include the SRD 3.5 Revised Bundle but I'll go with...

  • Unearthed Arcana
  • From Stone to Steel
  • Book of the Righteous
  • Advanced Bestiary
  • Dungeon Master's Guide II

That should give me plenty of options and lots of material to read and worth re-reading. The list could easily be expanded to ten or fifteen but pressed for just five and I'd have to go with these.

Well...
* Ptolus, aka the Ultimate Huge Book
* Shackled City
* World's Largest Dungeon
* Slavelords of Cydonia
* Midnight 2e

I figure by the time I'm done with all these campaigns, I'll be too old to figure out how to add a modifier to a d20 :o

Very tough question. I would have to go with...
  • Unearthed Arcana
  • Expanded Psionics Handbook
  • Magic of Faerun
  • Complete Adventurer
  • Monte Cook Presents: The Year's Best d20 Volume One

The D&D Rules Cyclopedia

No other book is necessary.

Ah, regarding core books, I think they will do as a dice rolling plataform.

Strictly speaking, this is correct. But I would add to the RC the following:

Gaz 1 "The Grand Duchy of Karameikos"
B1-9 "In Search of Adventure"
B10 "Night's Dark Terror"
X1 "Isle of Dread"
