I don't know about that. I think you very much knew it was restricted. "But how am I supposed to know not to go in if I'm not looking? How can I avoid it if I don't know I'm doing it?" I think you looked, saw the sign, and went in, and later, once caught, tried to make an excuse that you never saw the sign and just randomly went into a random door [although I suppose it's lucky you didn't happen to run into the wall, assuming you weren't looking, of course.]
