Does this (DRM) mean you can only install the game on one computer? I'd like to install on my travel laptop in addition to my home desktop.

AFAIK it's an activation-type DRM. Every time you install the game, it checks with Runic's DRM server to make sure you're allowed to install.

IIRC, the limit is around 10 installations -- so you're unlikely to have any problems with it right away. OTOH, you can't install it without getting permission first (cracks aside...), so you could be SOL if anything goes wrong with that check (you're trying to install it to an offline computer, Runic goes out of business, they decide the server is too expensive, etc).

It really does turn a software purchase into a rental. Sure, it's a long-term, unpredictable-end-date rental, but it's still a rental at buying prices. Not worth it, IMO.

Currently it's at $10 till Jan 4th so I picked it up over the weekend and I'm having a blast. It's easily worth the $10, I was waffling at $20

I picked it up at the $10 dollar price as well. Definitely fun.
