Touch attacks automatically succeed when grappling?

When you make a touch attach, you ignore AC adjustments for things like natural armor, shields and wearing armor, because you just need to make physical contact or "touch" the target. Does that mean that if a fighter is grappling with a spellcaster and the spellcaster casts a touch spell (the spell casting succeeds with proper feats and Concentration checks), the caster automatically succeeds at the touch attack, since they are already touching? If they are grappling, they are already physically touching. I cannot see why this wouldnt work.

I think of touch attacks as creating an aura around the fist of the caster, and he must touch his opponent with the aura, not just any part of his body.

There was an episode of the cartoon the Maxx where the hero is grappling with the evil sorcerer with a green glow around the sorcerer's fist and struggling to keep it from hitting him as they struggle.

Normally touch attacks are so easy to make anyway that it is not an issue, however.

You don't autosucceed a touch attack ... it doesn't say so anywhere ... and even though you "charge" your hand with the touch attack, doesn't mean you're able to touch your opponent in the grapple with that hand in that round, it's all about wrestling enough, so your hand touches the enemy, and that still needs a touch attack.

If that is so, this inspires a new feat -

"Full Body Touch Attack"
- This allows a touch attack to 'succeed' if any part of your body touches any part of the target's body. This would result in an automatic touch attack when grappling. It also would mean that if someone attacked you with natural weapons, they'd also be affected by a touch attack. Finally, if you had a spell that was a touch attack against a weapon, like a "rust" spell, and you had this feat, as soon as you were hit with the weapon, well, "rust" time.

;)

Depends on the spells - most of them have an area of 'creature touched', so the ground wouldn't qualify unless you were inside a whale or something...
