Touchy situation with my group

DALLAS SUCKS FOR GAMERS.

You think Dallas sucks for gamers, try Waxahachie. The only other gamer-types that I've even heard of around here is Paladin's group, and AFAIK, they're all D&D'ers.

Nothing wrong with D&D, I'm just burned out on it. Plus, I'm a good DM/GM, but I suck as a player.

I'd give my left nut to have a gaming group that met at my house so I could run a game. Right now, I'm doin' it over IRC, but I miss the actual face to face interaction.

Le sigh. Le moan.

11th-level wizard in a group of 6th-8th level other PCs?

*thunks head on wall*

Said wizard "helps" in planning the monsters to be fought?

*thunks head on wall*

Player of said wizard maneuvers the monsters against the PCs and runs a meatgrinder game on the side?

*thunks head on wall*

Darkness-casting, level-draining "baby pegasi" who bite paladins attempting to heal them?

*thunks head on wall*

*looks woozy a minute, then composes self*

That's not a game, that's a friggin' ego trip. Seriously, I would be out of there like a shot, and it's not exactly a secret that I often despair about the lack of gaming in my life.

Start your own game; invite Mr. and Mrs. Egotrip to play if you wish ... see how they perform when forced to tread the soil like other mere mortals.

Ugh. Nauseating.
