Tracking Armor as Damage Reduction

I really like the Armor as Damage Reduction variant from UA, and have used it for a few years. But I have a problem: My players keep forgetting to subtract their DR from the damage they take. I don't want to have to track it myself. I've got more important things to keep track of...:p

So, has anyone come up with an useful, clever, and foolproof method for tracking DR that could eliminate this problem? (Other than using a different mechanic or a houseruled mechanic...I like the mechanic as is.)

The only thing I've been able to come up with myself is putting a big sign in the middle of the gametable saying "Don't Forget the DR!":erm:


Any ideas?

Force your players to track their current hit points on a note card with their damage reduction written above it. If they keep forgetting at that point, then take off the child gloves and see what happens. If they forget to apply their damage reduction, that's how much damage they took. If you kill a player or two, I bet they'll start remembering.
