[Trailer] Total Recall

...and others don't have YouTube accounts at all because they think YouTube is the sum total reason why the human race should be wiped out.
I imagine these people have bigger problems than watching movie trailers.

Or should there be a rule that whoever starts a movie thread like this link to every conceivable movie format for the benefit of all?
I wasn't suggesting a rule. Only offering my opinion about what might offer more universal appeal. Sorry if it offended you.

Yes I'm lazy, because I only cared enough about the topic to click a link, not google for a movie I ain't likely to watch. And yes, Krug was just being helpful.

To about 50% of the EnWorld population who has QuickTime installed.

Had he linked the YouTube, that would have helped 80% of the population who has Flash or whatever tainted plugin YouTube uses these days

that is actually the point. If your going to post a link, you're trying to shortcut the process of getting to the content for others. Otherwise, Krug could have just started a thread that said "there's remake of Total Recall, y'all should totally go google up the link for yourselves to see the trailer!"

If you're going to do something to be helpful, be helpful by being effective. Otherwise, you've wasted your time.

I'm sure Krug cruises the Apple trailer site, which is why he always posts apple links. I was merely commenting that this source is only about 40% effective.

Dude, this is beyond being lazy. It's borderline insulting in my view. If I take the time to share something cool I found on the internet on my favorite message board and some yahoo tells me I didn't go far enough to provide him with an acceptable link . . . I'd tell him where he could go stick his YouTube link. Why, by any reasonable measure, should Krug be expected to do extra work to make your day easier? Sure, it'd be nice, but to act like he is somehow failing at internet protocol with an iTunes link and wasting his time and ours is beyond ridiculous. Sheesh.

If the movie trailer piques your interest enough, spend 5 seconds and google the damn thing yourself. Your are wasting more time, yours and mine, complaining about it.

Not to mention that iTunes often has exclusive access to trailers before they appear elsewhere on the intertubes. Which I believe is why Krug, a movie fan, starts there to find his trailers.

I these people have bigger problems than watching movie trailers.

And the same could probably be said for those who abhor Apple and Quicktime.

Who CARES whether FLASH, Quicktime, or any other video format or video site is more or less popular. It's not Krug's responsibility to cater to anyone's net preferences, just to share things he finds when he feels like it.

My mind explodes at the entitlement some folks express.

Ergh. Head hurts. Annoyed ENWorlder is annoyed.

I'm done with the whole silly spat of iTunes vs YouTube. It's beyond stupid.

I'll just take a bit more time to THANK Krug for sharing this trailer, which I enjoyed watching, and the many movie related links he's posted in the past. He's one of my favorite posters and I almost always enjoy taking the time to follow something he's linked to.

Whether it has been to iTunes, YouTube, or some other site.

Thanks Krug!

You don't need a Youtube account. And if you abhor flash, I am not sure why you'd be more happy with Quicktime, which is just another proprietary format.

The biggest problem with Youtube for me is that the ongoing court case between GEMA and Youtube/Google in Germany.
Yup.

Even then doesn't youtube also stream NON-FLASH versions of the files to people who live in Steve Job's private garden?!?!? After all, if Android isn't using Flash past 3.x (or is it 4.0?)and iDevices blow up when swfs and flvs touch them, then why would el Goog is stupid enough to make one of their most used sites in accessible to most future mobile devices and 100% of the Cult of Jobs?!?!

I never talked about entitlement. No need to hurt your head. I only suggested that YouTube has far more reach. That's all. No pain. No worry. No nerd rage. It was a smiley opinion. :D

I do thank Krug. I had already watched it on YouTube before posted his link. There was no emotional reaction from me, only a suggestion from a friendly EnWorlder. :)

I suspect they are working on a move to HTML 5 as well.

Regarding the actual movie, I'd say it may be interesting. I don't need Mars or 3-breasted women to enjoy a Sci-Fi action movie.

I am also just now reminded of the Tocal Recall TV series....
