[Trailer] Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

I wonder if they will explain how a Vampire Stronghold could have been built in a remote area and be sustainable without a large large local human population (to act as cattle, laborers, etc). After all, the vamps have to feed off something and those werewolf laborers have to feed on livestock/produce and letting werewolf slaves work in the daytime unsupervised is definitely out of the question since they will kill their masters...

Werewolf slavers, send them out to force your friends and foes to send you tribute, you keep pack members at home as hostages. You just have to keep a couple of vamps and werewolfs in the area for enforcement.

But yea, should not be a huge number of both in one area.

I remember they stated that werewolves protected their vampire-lords while they slept during the day. So the stronghold could be very well near villages and towns but any attacks get obliterated by the werewolf slaves.

The two supporrting characters of Viktor and Lucian ended up being the best thing about the original Underworld. I know the producers of the movie must have been shaking their heads at the end of watching the first movie before it was released.
Supporting characters get killed. Antagonists get killed big time--it's sort of the pay-off of sitting through an action movie. I suspect they didn't think Lucian or Viktor was a bigger asset than Selene. And the movie won't be better off for her absence.

The number 1 reason why I hate prequels or any movie set before the previous movies. Underworld without the great gunplay is not underworld.
To my recollections, the gunplay just amounted to the lycans being mowed down without any real ability to retaliate.

That's the problem with the modern day Werewolf vs non-traditional (read: WoD styled) vampire thing. Vamps only a simple hand gun loaded with silver (silver-nitrate) bullets to kill a werewolf while werewolves need to behead/stake and then to drag it's corpse into sunlight to make sure its dead. That is unless you come up with a laughable concept like werewolves developing magic liquid UV bullets .... oh yeah, I forgot, Underworld already did that...

Did they? Hrm, guess it's been a while since I watched the movies. Don't remember them in Underworld. I know they're in Blade though. :)

Yup they were, it was the UV-gel bullets that caused the creation of the silver-nitrate bullets. Selene took some of the bullets from the subway fight to their weapon guy and he remade them and replaced the UV-gel with silver-nitrate.
