Sounds like I'm safer using the wizard. I assume i just plug my laptop to my router so they can transfer.

If all you want to do is copy the Favorites, just copy the folder. It'll fit on a floppy or a USB drive, or you can just copy it from PC to PC.

The instructions in the link I provided tell you how to do the Wizard between two PCs on the same network. Obviously, you want to make sure the two machines are talking first. If you have Norton Internet Security or such installed, you may need to disable it while you run the wizard.

I never got it to work, but then again, I was trying it with my work PC, and apparently it works differently for domain computers.

On a related note. I just checked my order status for my laptop and Dell said it was shipped on June 26, 2006. Today is June 24.

are you planning on using both the laptop and the PC at the same time?

no, the laptop for stuff at work, desktop at home. But I assume when i transfer the things I want over, I need both on.
