Well, if I ever get a copy of the rules, I hereby undertake to run a Traveller d20 game here on Enworld (I would run Megatraveller but can you imagine the charater creation nightmare on a board?)
Very true. Have you noticed the d20 traveller on the story hours? I haven't read them yet, since I just "discovered" them yesterday, but I intend to.

Even though I typically do not enjoy on-line gaming, for a Traveller fix I would do it.

I started following a few but haven't followed them religiously. Thats what got me interested in seeing Traveller d20. If the story hours are conveying the feel of the rules, it does look like it recreates the feel of original traveller but within d20.

As for playing online - never tried till I found EnWorld a couple of months ago. I must admit, PbP play is very different but al least it is some play. At thirty five my old gaming buddies have generally moved away, stopped playing etc. While I want to put together a new group I am reluctant to do so with people much younger - to me table top gaming is a social gaming exercise. So for the moment PbP is where I get my RPGing fix. Other online gaming is pretty much out unfortunately. Broadband connectivity is still VERY expensive here and the government is dragging its heels at licensing competitors for for the entrenched telecoms monopoly here.

I have been thinking about your gaming supply problem. It sounds to me like you need a friend or family member in the US to buy what you want at 20 to 30% off the US prices and then ship them to you. You can use PayPal to send them money directly out of your bank account, then they can turn around and buy what you need/want, box it, and ship it to you. I would imagine at very significant savings, even with shipping.

If you are willing to risk trusting me I am willing to be that friend. I even have a Paypal account. :)

Since i buy boxes in bulk, for stuff I sell on eBay, the shipping box costs me a dollar (US), so your cost would be actual shipping+ 1 dollar, and cost of the books, which I typically get at 20 to 30% off the US cover price, plus shipping. Which for me averages about $5.00 US (shipping). If I order stuff for myself at the same time we can cut it in half by splitting it between us.

Crunch the numbers and let me know if you want to try it out. You should be able to PM me through this board.
