Traveller D20 Spotted in Stores!!!

Whilst I did not have the spare $$'s to obtain it today, I had the opportunity to flip through what looks like one of the most nicely laid out D20 book to date. It definitely has the "Travelleresque" quality of previous books. The interior artwork is first rate, the color plates are outstanding as well! The firearm pics are once again fantastic...always are from the Traveller guys. Read through someof the rules, feats, skills and such, and everything looked like the writers really "grokked" the D20 system.

I am looking forward to going back money in hand, and taking this book home with me!

Can you die during character creation? It's not really Traveller unless you can die in your career path

I have been waiting so very long for this to be published. I have pre-ordered and now will not be one of the first to have it in my grubby little paws.

Admittedly it is going to be a while before it reaches stores up here. So maybe I will be one of the first in Anchorage to have it.

Now, I guess that I have to start trying to convince my players to try it out. Hmm, perhaps bribery is in order here.

Normally I would agree with you. But, you see, I am a Traveller fan from way back. I have run every incarnation of the game and that must continue! And who knows, perhaps this will finally be the version of the game that I actually get to play as well as run.

I have heard many great stories regarding the Traveller character generation rules. Have always wanted to just make a character to see it, even if I didn't play.

Curious if the d20 incorporates those rules.

Not quite... which is too bad. I always like the effort of spending an hour rolling through a career, only to have the character die at age 60 (or so) from a failed survivial roll.

Failing the survival roll in a during a career generally causes you to be kicked out of the service, sometimes with and sometimes without any retirement benefits.

There is -no way- that it took you an hour to roll your character before dying. 5 minutes tops. The survival roll was one of the best things about Traveller character generation rules. It was almost a game within itself.
