Travelling by the Astral Plane

First Post
Hi!

I have a player whose Dimension Door went wrong and he's now trapped on the Astral Plane. He moved while there, and quite far (he got carried away by one of those nice storms :D). He is now going to get back to the Material Plane but... my question is "where will he appear?"

How movement on the Astral Plane affects movement on the Material Plane? Anyone knows?

Thanks in advance!

Bye!!! ;)

As far as I'm concerned, the character would end up anywhere you want. I don't think (but I don't have the book) there's any correlation between astral and physical movement.

I would dump him out somewhere, uh, "interesting". Somewhere good for a couple of sessions of solo play until he can get in contact with the rest of the party.

Easiest scenario: He ends up in a foreign land and has to buy a teleport scroll to get home. Hope he's got some cash or an item he can pawn. :)

Alchemist is correct.

Unlike transitive planes like the Ethereal or Shadow (where you can see where you are on the Prime), outer planes like the Astral are an entirely different reality.

There are specific color pools that lead back to specific points on the Prime. Otherwise you could simply Plane Shift (inaccurate) or Gate (accurate) your way home.

In general, without magical aid the only way to get out of the astral is to hitch a ride on a conduate or go color pool hoping. Either way would bring the person out at a specific place in the other plane that the pool connected.
