This adventure had its good and bad points. Unfortunately, the good points were not outstanding.
The plot: Straight forward, dispense of the baddie and save the town.
NPCs: The blacksmith Ashihei is interesting if played with some creative license but he is not supposed to accompany the group. The one NPC who is supposed to fight along side the PCs is rather bland and VERY weak.
Difficulty: The module says it is targeted for lvls 1-3 but I think lvls 1-2 would be more appropriate. The Giant Wasp can be very challenging and, as the module states, may be more difficult to kill than the final baddie. This can be frustrating if, like my party did, the group enters the castle where the wasp is waiting in the first room. The most difficult battle was over and done with in the first quarter of the adventure. Oh well.
Overall: The final battle can be interesting in the hands of a moderately experienced DM and some preparation but the monsters leading up to that fight can be weak. Most interesting part of the module was crawling through a very tight tunnel and the PCs getting stuck. When I asked how my group enjoyed the adventure they said, "eh, so-so." Pretty average I guess.
