I actually like the idea of giving the paladin Sir K's longsword, even if it means the 2 currently magic-less PCs have to wait for their items.

Reasoning: if you blatantly hand out items on a "rotation" schedule, you risk losing the adventure's sense of immersion. I certainly agree that the PCs should have their items balanced out over the long term, but a bit of asymmetry in who gets what makes things seem more real and less arbitrarily balanced. Complete and utter fairness can get boring and predictable fairly quickly.

I - too - like the idea of giving the paladin Sir K's sword. It matches the plot perfectly! How could you not?

Give the rogue and warlord stuff later. Believe it or not, getting magic items *later* in the adventure is actually better, as these items are more likely to be higher level. So yer actually doin' the rogue an' warlord a favor. ;)

BTW, what sorts of items are on the rogue's an warlord's wish lists?
