Treatment for a jerk player?

Kularian

First Post
A few days ago, I posted something about a high-power campaign I planned on running, well, high-power for my ground anyway. Gestalt, 40-pt buy. (I changed the buy slightly, if any remember.) Also, as an idea from one of the replies, they also start with a Weapon of Legacy.

A friend of mine is a relatively new player to the group, and hasn't quite 'got down' the creation of a character yet. I tell him about the idea, and offer to help with the character creation, since it's a little different than normal. In reply, he simply says, "Yeah yeah, whatever. Make the character sheet." Now, that put me off a little, so I put my irritation into making a quite horrible character, if I do say so myself, :p Still holds possibility to work, but not for someone at 'his' level of experience.

Without further ado, The Character!

P.S. I will not actually make him use this, as entertaining as it would be. Comments on how to make it worse are appreciated, ;) But it's just to show him that telling me to "Make the character sheet," isn't quite what he wants...

I'm not quite sure why you are irritated, but I can help you make it worse.

First, I don't understand how a 1st level half-orc can have an int of 17. After the -2 penalty, it seems that 16 would be the best. Also, most point buy methods have a lower limit of 8, so how did this guy end up with a Con of 5?

I would go with this for point buy:

Str 10+2racial = 12
Dex 11
Con 8
Int 18-2racial=16
Wis 18=18
Con 11-2racial=9

Commoner 1/Sorcerer 1 works well. Spend all skill points on cross-class skills or perfession.

Feat: Highten Spell

Instead of a Half-Orc, make him into a midget Gnome with 2 wooden peg-legs and give him a cursed item of some kind.

The longspear is far too practical a weapon. Give him a net or a whip (without any proficiency, of course). Also, Mage Hand might actually have some use - try Detect Poison instead.

Actually, our group does this (sort of). We have a "loaner" character for people who forget their character sheets, and it's just about the worst character we can make. Since we implemented this system, people remember to bring their stuff! ;)

maggot: I believe aging penalties were involved.

Check out the Character's age:

Age: 61

That half-orc is Venerable!

That is very unkind. You should treat your friends better.

Mocking their lack of RPG-fu is impolite at best.

And being dismissively told "Make the character sheet" isn't?

'sides, he's not going to give the friend this sheet for actual use.

I disagree, he is being a jerk and didn't want to work on his OWN character. I think he should play the sorry pc, that would be funny.

Funny? Make him play it?

Right up until the time he gets the party TPK'd by click clacking down the dungeon on his wooden peg legs.

Just tell him to make his character and listen in while the rest of you PLAY. I like the cursed item idea however. Ian.
