Trick Arrows

I have a player who wants to use alchemy to make some trick arrows. For instance, he'd like to have arrows that imitate the effect of tanglefoot bags or alchemist's fire. Yes, we've even made some jokes about arrows with boxing gloves affixed to them.

Anyone seen any published products that cover this subject? I want to be accessible enough that this player can get what he wants, but not so easy to come by that everyone co-opts his gimmick.

You should read the Cleric's Quintet by Salvatore. The hero in that serie does exactly that.

I have developed a group in my world (PrCs, history etc) that rely on being able to make everything they need for bow shooting. From the lowly bow + arrows all the way to trick arrows and later magical ammunition/bows.

What I have been using is Craft(bowyer/fletcher) to make arrows, with Alchemy to make specials like tanglefoot, alchemist fire.

The Craft allows signal arrows (whistlers), message arrows and mundane stuff, the Alchemy must be made in conjunction for anything special.

Pricing is already done for you in the PHB and so its not too hard.

Arms & Armor 3.5 has some trick arrows including, IIRC, alchemical arrows that you can load stuff like alchemist's fire into.

I've also seen trick arrows in a couple of sources. Some Dragon Magazines are the ones that spring immediately to mind. I distinctly remember thunderstone arrows. Possibly the Arms & Equipment Guide has these as well.
