Lucien hears the other two resident heroes heading over to breakfast and makes sure their food is ready.

When they get in the kitchen, and ask, he tells them, "Herr Baron is on the phone with Duane. The Baron will most probably be heading down after that."

Phineas pauses, swallows his food, dabs at his mouth with a napkin, and then asks Lucien:

"Duane? What does that media-loving mechanic want this time?"

"Don't you see, Duane. Just you and I know it was her. Now -- even more than before -- we need to keep the secret. So if you hear someone else talk about how this new hero is ShadowGal, you have to pretend like they're wrong. You can act like you've never heard someone say that before, and you could play up the differences in the description, or you could try a different way to misdirect them. I'm sure you can think of something appropriate. Keep up the good work, Duane. Auf Wiedersehen."

Lorien looks at the Professor confused for a second.

"Duane isn't....oh, you mean Duane Risca. I think Duane Risca is still in the desert with his experimental car. I was talking about Duane Keller, caterer / wanna be hero. I'm not sure what he wanted with the Baron. He claimed it was important."

No, I was talking about Mr Keller. His "Ice Cream Machine" is certainly interesting, but he clearly doesn't understand the principles that make it work. He just slaps things together and hopes they work - a mere mechanic, hardly an inventor. In any case, I think he's more interested in getting his smiling face on the paper, than in actually improving the world.

Now, Duane Risca, him I have respect for. I'm really hoping for some exciting results from his experimental car. I just hope this one doesn't blow up before he's had a chance to get in it...

Victor gets up and heads in the direction of the voices he hears. He greets everyone and fills them in on the details of his conversation with Duane.

Sheng is thoughtful for a moment.
"Duane's information is good - he is diligent in his interest if his talents have not kept pace. Who do we know that would look to take advantage of ShadowGal's absence? We should expect to be tested once it is known that she is gone."

"Perhaps Adam could tell us which enemies of hers which have threatened this city are still free from imprisonment?"
