Tripping out in Wheel of time

Does the class defensive adjustment stop touch attacks and if it does is this fair to the trip master type of character and are they really an option in Wheel of time?

Since deflection bonuses practically don't exist and only the Dancers of the Spear have a defense bonus that's worth spit, being trip-based will work fine against human opponents. Attack bonuses will far outstrip the Defense bonus.

Trying to trip Shadowspawn probably won't work too hot, though -- they have the whole "sometimes bigger and almost always stronger" shtick going on.

Yes but in the first 5 levels that is really tough on a trip fighter.
In low level D&D compaigns there are very few defection bonuses also.
I think that it is time to start looking at a different character build at this point.
