"The modern industrial world is full of unexplained accidents involving machinery that seemingly went haywire for no reason. There is a reason, of course, but few modern people are willing to accept it. In most cases, modern people would rather have an unexplained mystery than a truth that conflicts with the safe, logical parameters of their world. After all, machines can't be alive, and they certainly can't be possessed. Or can they? Find out in Charles Ryan's new miniadventure for the d20 Modern Roleplaying Game for 3rd to 5th level characters."

Black Rock.

I actually like this one more than the first one. The first one screamed of dungeun crawl. This one has none of that. Undead are cool because their are modern referrences in movies and pop culture about hauntings and zombies. The Black Rock mod gives a feel of Silent Hill which I like. Not to fond of the possessed machine though. But that could be cause I saw the Mangler and didn't like it.

My players saw the whole Silent Hill/Night of the Living Dead pretty quickly. It may have had something to do with the car mysteriously breaking down and having to trek several miles in the dark, and then coming upon a deserted town...

They did not have a problem with it, and kept it all in game, which became pretty funny. Mostly one character trying to scare one of the others by bringing up old horror movies. It was perfect, because without even trying they set up the initial scene of Night of the Living Dead. It really turned out quite nicely, and managed to get some real horror and gross out moments from the "mangler" and the ghouls. the best moment was the aftermath though, when they finally find Marilyn. One actually got a little weepy.

Ah pathos...with ghouls no less.

Black Rock

That's great it worked out for you guys. It makes me more inclined to run it now. I'm still running people individually so I have to wait until they are finally a group for this one.
