Would you mind going into a little bit more detail about that book? If it's no hassle.
Sure,
I'd love to tout it as it is one of my favorite True20 products. Rarely do I find a product as useful as I find the adepts handbook. It has practially everything I would ever want or need for magic in True20. The book covers magic for everything from fantasy to modern to scifi. As I am using True20 for Fantasy, the whole supplement was useful.
But a quick overview:
* Supernatural Backgrounds
* A whole bunch of alternate Core Abilities you could swap out with the adept.
* Adept variant roles
* Supernatural Philosophies (kind of like magickal traditions) with dozens of sample traditions spanning everything from fantasy to history to scifi
* Rules for Astrology, Herbalism and Prophecy in easy True20 style.
* A good blend of supernatural feats that don't overwhem but provide just the right amount of options and flexibility
* Of course new Powers as well as further uses for some existing one. Some of these really fill in the gap like "Acid" and "Mana Shaping" and "Shadow Shaping"
* How to do psychic grappling
* Supernatural items - everything from single use (charms oils potions scrolls) to multi-use items (staves, wands, and rods) to permanent (fetishes, armor, Intelligent items) to golems to Power Foci to Artifacts - all done with many examples in the easy True20 style.
* Rules for Rituals
* Wellsprings, Ley Lines, and places of power
* Summoning
* True Names
* Runecasting
* Adept organizations (how to create and samples)
As you can see it covers a TREMENDOUS amount of ground. And even though there is a lot here, it is all rules lite and very easy to implement - like True20 is supposed to be. It is a true magic toolkit. A one stop shop. If you are going to explore magic/powers at all using True20, it does all of the work for you, or shows you simply how to do exactly what you want rules-lite and very easy.
