Truely fantastic & impressive work.

Out of interest, what were the other 3 programs ?

My guess is that two of those programs were Campaign Cartographer 2 and World Machine. I don't know that for sure, but World Machine does create detailed terrain like that.

The terrain looks very realistic. How did you go about creating that? Was it all by hand or did you use some kind of terrain generation program?

Frugal

I used WorldMachine, Wilbur, Photoshop and Paintshop Pro to create this map.

FR Style

Here is another map I created. This one has been on my site for a while, but it was in an unpolished state. I have since refined it and now consider as complete as possible, (for now anyway!).

I think the vast majority of you will recognize the style this map uses.

The map started as a hand-drawn image that I scanned and colored in Paintshop Pro.

Paul

All I get is Forbidden You do not have Access blah blah blah. I wanna see. Heh.

I looked at everything and things appear to be in order. I have no idea why you are receiving the 'forbidden' message unless it might be an issue on your end with your provider or network.

Try visiting the web site www.truenorthcartography.com and see if the entire site is forbidden.

Superb. Thanks for posting these. I looked at the website, too. Particularly liked the player's map you drew by hand. But they were all marvelous. You have very lucky players.

This is just a thought but have you considered creating continental (ie campaign sized) maps entirely devoid of labels? I reckon there are plenty more peeps like me who have got ideas for campaigns, notes on nations and tribes and histories and such but they (er, we) can't draw a decent (let alone exquisite) map to save their (er, our) lives. An unlabelled map would give these (us) less (un-) talented souls something on which to graft their (our) megalomaniacal dreams.

Not that we deserve it.
