Oh, I didn't even compare those, I just slapped a 1,000xp tag on it because it felt right. And actually Lich (4th level) costs 2,000 xp vs. Vampirism (7th level) costing 1,000xp. I may change the XP cost to be the target's price as well, to more closely reflect their new ECL. Granted, ECL is not supposed to affect already created characters, but granting the Celestial template will certainly make them more powerful.

Mm forgot about that. But I did notice for most others, there was kind of set cost where each level dealt 1,000 XP loss per level. Course I could be wrong. That change though I think could work as well.

Then again, looking back over it, maybe Half-Celestial is actually less powerful. The DR 30/+3 granted by celestial could become a problem later. The characters may end up as generals in a war, and I can't really give the enemy troops all +3 weapons.

Maybe up the xp cost to 2,000 (4,000 if you want wings)?

Yeah that does present a problem for some. Though do remember, they still can try to get through the guy's SR with fire spells or some other spells. After all SR 25 isn't THAT good. :) Actually it's DR 10/+3 not 30. At least that was my MM reads.

Perhaps, but the point is you send in your elite battlemagi/assault commandoes/master assassins against the enemy general. And they *do* have +3 weapons.

Yeah, the SR isn't a big deal at their level. The bare minimum of an encounter should be a 10th level wizard. Also, looking it over, I can probably keep them out of army-type battles simply by having bigger fish to fry gated in (such as Balor demons).
