I picked it up last night and have had a brief glance through it. My initial thoughts are that a lot of work has been put in on stat blocks (though I haven't checked them for errors).

I have some concerns over its usefulness in running a True20 fantasy campaign designed to replicate a standard D&D one, in relation to the comments made in the introduction on the problems of multi-classing and conviction-gained one-off feats in relation to keeping the traditional classes sacred. But it would need actual play over several levels to really assess its success in that area.

It may be more successful in running a True20 fantasy campaign that sought to keep the feel of standard D&D whilst keeping players to single classes (in terms of D&D) though allowing multiple roles (in terms of True20).

If they branched out into some of the non-PHB "Complete" book classes I might consider picking it up. I've been tinkering with translating my OA campaign over to T20, and I'd like to see how some things like class feats are handled.

One of the problems I have with using T20 is translating some classes over to T20. I don't really have a problem with the core classes, because those feats are already covered. Like how would you build the Ki feats for a Ninja?

I would argue that a 143-page PDF for $10 certainly isn't a high price (in fact, it's a little low). And yes, a lot of time went into the 210 stat blocks in the PDF.
 

Is the work any use for a Blue Rose game? I don't own True20, and probably never will, but I do own BR. I suspect there are subtle differences, but my question is if it references or relies on any True20 mechanics in a way that will make the conversion even a tad not obvious or trivial?

First off, I'd be asking myself why buy a product like this for Blue Rose (presuming you will not buy True20 because you're happy playing Blue Rose)? This product, to my mind, comes into its own if you want to convert a D&D campaign to True20, while keeping the feel of D&D. If you want to give Blue Rose a more D&D feel, then fine, but I suspect from your comments this is unlikely.
However, to directly answer your question, there are differences between Blue Rose and True 20 that could cause you some confusion like core abilities, new feats and powers, and a few mechanics changes. Some of these changes appear in Fantasy Paths.

I did a little investigation into pdf prices and I stand corrected, it's below average on price per page. I have deleted my comment in my original post. My sincere apologies - I can see a lot of hard graft went into the product and it's a great time saver for those of us who want to convert our D&D campaigns to True 20. Many thanks.
