True20 Nevermore: Designer Discussion Thread

I've moved this to the d20/OGL system forum for a couple of reasons

1) this is where true20 stuff and afficionados live

2) much lower churn rate means that your information will appear on the first page much longer

Cheers

It sounds really cool. A nice blend of pretty much, well everything. Thanks for the info, I'll be directing some people I know towards it. How much of it is mechanics? How many pages of fluff is there?

The Nevermore material in Worlds of Adventure is about 50/50, Liber Artefactorum is 67/33 on the mechanics side (since it includes the supernatural item creation system), while the domain books are about 67/33 on the fluff side of things (only including mechanics that really help highlight the possibilities of the domain).

The domain books are meant to be "jumping off" points for campaigns with their main concern being to illustrate the unique adventure possibilities that can be found therein.

I hope this helps and please feel free to ask more questions as they arise ;)

Just thought I'd say here that I'm glad I bought the Dreamscapes PDF, and that I've made good use of it (well, I think so!)

Also, I'm looking forward to Nevermore.

Thanks.

I'm glad that dreamscapes has found a home at your table... it's always good to know that your rules are being used to good effect ;)

It is really a great improvement over the system in Dreamscapes... and it presents a unique world of adventure that I hope will find a home on many more tables.

You are wellcome and please keep in touch as I love to hear how people use the materials I have written and what they think about the rules... even their dislikes ;)

Well its that time of year again... when gamers and game designers flock to the legendary land of Gen Con to partake in the "best four days of gaming!" This year has truly been a "Gen Con or bust" year... with my plans changing almost daily and in the end resulting in more plane flights and car rides than I care to admit... however tomorrow I begin the final leg of my journey to the center of gaming greekdom. I will be demoing True20 Nevermore from Friday-Sunday... and hopefully finding a free game or two to play myself. Then there is the Expeditious Retreat booth (#205), which will have a very limited print run of "Liber Artefactorum" for sale... maybe I can talk Joe and Suzi into letting me sign them all ;)

If you are heading to Gen Con, then I hope you'll swing by the Expeditious Retreat booth and grab a copy of Liber Artefactorum... or jump into on of the open slots in my demos... or track me down just to say hello. ;)

If you are not going to Gen Con... I wish you a very restful week... and hope your gaming goes well ;)

PS: While I'm away from the boards and all things internet I was wondering what kind of products you would like to see from Expeditious Retreat press in regards to Nevermore.

Our current production line is chalk full of planned products (Liber Artefactorum, the five domain books, and a couple other unannounced products), but I'd like to know what you want to see addressed in Nevermore's upcoming products.

The products can be Nevermore specific or a sub-system of the True20 rules (like item creation was for LA) that you would like to see explored.

Well I'm back from Gen Con and had a blast running Nevermore's introductory adventure "Big Trouble in Little Oakdale"... I had a pretty good response to how the adventure ran and look forward to polishing it up for future enjoyment by the True20 community.

Anyway I have heard from Joe and Suzi that they have a few preview copies of Liber Artefactorum left over from Gen Con and they will be having a "post Gen Con" sale of the products they have left over from the convention starting this Friday. Keep your eyes peeled to the Expeditious Retreat website for more details on how you can get your hands on this limited print run of Liber Artefactorum:

Keep Your Dreams Alive,

After a long hiatus... during which I was busy writting for my classes as well as other gaming companies... we have finally gotten the next two Nevermore products written, edited, and put into pdf format...

You can find out more in the following Press Release:

http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=192727

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc... just let me know and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Good Gaming,
Joseph
