Try something in v3.5 that didn't interest you before?

Based on the information we've gathered so far, what aspects of the game are you eager to try out now that didn't interest you in v3.0?

I may actually try a bard. Or a fighter, now that he has a wider option of feats.

I'm also eager to apply the half-dragon template to a swarm monster. -- "You ever seen a dragonfly?..."

I'm looking forward to a ranger class that doesn't actually suck, as well as bad jokes like dragonfly swarms :D
I wonder, is there any limit to what you can apply the Swarm type too? I've already heard of the infamous stone golem swarm...

The multiclassed ranger/rogue/barbarian I was thinking of playing is rapidly becoming closer and closer to a single-classed ranger and the only thing I'm still thinking about multiclassing for is the ability to find and remove traps (well, that and Uncanny dodge). The 3e ranger wasn't nearly as interesting.

Well, the revision killed of my barbarian/bard, so I guess I'll have to play something else.

Right now, I'm thinking druid, but considering that the first 3ed character I ever played was a druid, that's not really new.

I may play a ranger in the future if the druid dies; I wouldn't have considred that before. (If I had wanted a wilderness warrior, I would have played a barbarian rogue.)

I actually want to try a ranger now. I never did like the two-weapon fighting style of the 3.0 ranger before. I don't know why. I just didn't. Powergamers killed it for me. But I'm much interested in this new archery feat 'tree'.

I was thinking a Paladin with my high stat in charisma. Nice saves with high charisma.

Smite evil once per five levels is sweet.

Add in Extra Turning, Power Attack (with a two-hander of course) and Divine Might (about 7 times per day for more or less 3 rounds) from DoF, and it looks sweeter.

Plus, I always wanted to hurl a red-and-white ball to the ground and have my horse pop-out. :p

It's a good thing you can't use a heavy lance two-handed for Power Attack/Spirited Charge/Smite Evil ... I mean, I hope you can't use it two-handed :D
Why not? I'm pretty sure you can. Yeah, it's an EVIL thing to do to to an opponent, but you can. I'd use Power Critical as well, though.

What? How did the revision kill off your barbarian/bard? That's the class combo that I most want to try now that 3.5 details are emerging.

Curious,

I'm hoping that the game where I play a paladin will return from hiatus. The second smite will be fun, and help him survive the front-line combatant role that he wasn't born for but needs to do.

I'm looking forward to the transformation of the ranger/bard in the game I GM, though I'm sure he will miss the 1 hp I'll dock him for each ranger level (due to the d10 to d8 change). I'm curious to see the spell rebalancing across schools, and how that might effect the transmuter in the party.

As a GM, I will feel a lot better about the large number of NPC rangers in my campaign world.
