Trying to find a TSR novel... please help

I am trying to find the title of a TSR novel with a character named Ferret who is a thief. I remember there was a complete party of adventurers and I believe at the end of the book Ferret stays behind, locked in a treasure cave while the others escape.

Will someone please help me find the title of this book?

Would you by any chance mean A Business of Ferrets by Beth Hilgartner? It's not TSR, but it sounds like the one. I think A Business of Ferrets also has sequels so you might be thinking of one of them.
