Because all "new items" need to be specifically allowed by the DM, of course. (DMG p. 178 and elsewhere).

Right, it is a nice skill, unless you see your character as clumsy.Ki Ryn said:I just noticed that Tumbling isn't an exclusive skill. So anyone who is not encumbered by armor or weight should probably spend the 2 skill points to pick this up right?
If you make your skill check roll, yes, but it's not "for free."If I'm a wizard and have points to spare, is there any reason why I shouldn't have Tumbling at 1? That gives me a chance to avoid AoO's and reduce falling damage for free doesn't it?
That's about right. You would have to roll a 10 or better to make the DC 15 skill check. Just don't try to tumble through the enemy or you will get cut to ribbons. My kobold wizard with his 18 Dex would have a 50/50 chance of avoiding most movment AoO's, all for a mere 2 skill points. Seems like a great deal! Is there some restriction that I'm missing here?

And why opposed tumble checks are a beautiful thing![]()
Crothian said:That doesn't make it a house rule per say. It's DM's approval, not a new rule.

The only broken thing about tumble is even on a failure you can still tumble through an occupied square.
