Imagine a situation where a large monster was trapped in a stone room and needed to get out. However, this monster isn't a tunnelly type monster, and has no tunnel speed. Can he simply attack a wall, break it down and move in this fashion through the earth? If so, how many HP and hardness would you give an average 10-foot by 10-foot section of earth? (given that say, solid wood has hardness 5 and 60 HP per 10-foot square section)
