Map Details:

• Grid Size: 48x56 10' Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1700x2025
• Areas 1 and 3 have daises/raised platforms.
• Areas 1 and 3 have statues.
• Areas 4 a), 12, and 22 have tapestries.
• Area 5 b) has a pool/fountain.
• Areas 10 and 29 have open pits/wells.
• Area 26 a) is at a higher elevation than areas 26 b), 26 c), and 26 d).
• Area 26 b) and 26 d) have large square columns and normal-sized pillars at the water's edge.
• Area 26 c) represents water. This is but one port on a vast underground river.

Map Details:

• Grid Size: 36x46 10' Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1229x1578
• Area 2 has square columns.
• Areas 2, 6, 13 a), 14 b), 16 b), and 25 have statues.
• Areas 5, 14 a), 28, and 35 have pillars.
• Areas 5, 14 a), 20, 25, and 26 b) have covered pit traps.

The pattern surrounding the statue in area 6 was caused by the air elemental when it was trapped inside the statue. Touching the statue runs a risk of releasing the (now enraged) air elemental.

• Areas 15, 22, 24, 25, and 35 have false doors.
• Area 16 b) is a dais/raised platform.
• The circles in area 16 b) represent thirteen pots/urns. Perhaps some creature is trapped in one or more of these pots and opening them will release any trapped creatures.
• Areas 19 and 33 have open pits.
• Area 23 has a slide trap that dumps the unwary down to a lower level.

So I'm going to run a D&D game for first time players so I threw this map together with some notes. Click to enlarge.



The players will start at the Griffin Tail inn in the village of Blacktree. It is rumoured that werewolves are stalking the village. Farmers have had their herd slain and now people are missing. The PCs get hired to find out what is happening in Blacktree and its environment. A group of goblin riders with their worgs are terrorizing the area. They take great humour in trolling the village with their werewolf hoax.

Here is the August 5, 2022 Friday Freebie map. I'm continuing with the underground river 'theme.' Click to enlarge.







Outpost A Map Details:
The grey section of area 1 b) represents an underground river.
Areas 1 a), 1 c), 2, 3, 4, and 11 have pillars. The pillars in areas 2, 3, and 4 are square pillars.
Area 1 c) and 9 a) have statues.
Area 10 has an altar on a dais.
Area 11 has a covered pit trap.
Area 17 has an open pit (the bottom connects to the river?).

Outpost B Map Details:
Area 2 has a covered pit trap.
Areas 2, 11 a), 11 c), 22, and just outside area 26 have statues.
The grey section of area 11 b) represents an underground river.
Areas 11 a) and 11 c) have pillars.
Area 12 has a pool (the bottom connects to the river?).
Area 19 b) is a bridge that allows passage over the river and its shipping.
The row of black dots in areas 19 and 20 are bars/gates.
Area 22 has a dais.

• Area 1 and the surrounding shaded sections represent the desert sands.
• Area 2 is the town wall.
• Areas 3 b), 11, 22, and 52 have pillars. Someone or something is keeping the sand away from the pillars.
• Area 3 c) is a chute trap that drops the unwary deep underground.
• Areas 4, 21, 43, 74, 76 b), and 83 have statues.
• Areas 14 and 84 have stairs leading down.
• Areas 37, 64, 74, and 76 a) have open pits/wells.
• Areas 43 and 69 have covered pit traps.

Even though the Map Details don't seem to match, I DO like this map. Room 30 in particular...
