Turning Undead question (?)

First Post
This is probably easy or obvious but can anyone tell me if you can repeatedly Turn the "same" undead creatures that were turned?

For example:
Miles turns a group of zombies. The party dispatches the remaining zombies and proceed to search the room. The party takes too long and the same group of zombies attacks them.

Can Miles turn the zombies again provided he still has enough turning attempts?

I do believe that was changed to work that way in 3.0/3.5 since they limited the number of times per day. If you, as DM, are willing to call them separate encounters then there is no problem allowing them to turn the same one's again.
I am pretty sure you can do multiple turns on the same undead anyway.
Besides, your the DM, go with what makes sense to you. I mean, do zombie/undead become immune to the holy presence of a god?

Yes. A cleric can turn the same undead as many times as he has Turns Per Day, regardless of whether past attempts were successful or not.

Be advised though, those you turned already stay turned and thus don't factor into turning attempts. At least I don't believe so.

I am pretty sure there is a duration involved. Should be in the PH section on turning, so is the answer to the original question.

Yes there is a duration but I was more referring to those undead that weren't turned BEFORE.

Yeah, i saw that after my initial post, but since the duration is important in the way the encounter is described it was still pertinent, so i didn't edit.
