That's an obscure enough reference that not everyone will catch on. Great place to start an adventure.

I like it because it is a lot more subtle and obscure. I don't even think the players realized that it is from something yet. When I print out pictures as props to show what the characters look like then it might ring some bells with people.

In my Eberron game the party will be doing a lot of stuff for house Cannith (or not, depends on them really). The artificer's 'mentor' type as well as their main contact within Cannith south in Sharn is a wand adept based on Perry Cox from scrubs (as far as personality). Wonder how long before they notice...

YES!! All dwarves are scotish or John Rhys-Davies. And, worse come to worse, the dwarf from the Dungeons and Dragons movie.
