Not what was meant...in fact how did you even come to that conclusion?
Maybe I've been too literal but you really did equate pooping with sex. You directly did that when you said that "defecating where one eats" meant "having sex with a member of your crew." On its own that's uncomfortable; beyond that it's downright ugly.

I always felt the hate that season four got seemed more about the meta issues than the quality of the episodes. They weren't the best in the series run, but there were a number of very solid ones, I thought.
There were a few that were ok with good parts. One that is actually good (the one written by Jim Rash).

Most I skip entirely because they were trying too hard to emulate the weird without understanding the characters or the story-structure that gave Harmon’s work its heart. And one that’s just meaningless trash. With puppets for no reason.

There must be a puppet rental company in Studio City that cold calls all TV shows once they're a few seasons in.

Yes, way too literal, and no I did not equate sex with defecation; you assumed that.

So you don't think that having sex with a member of your crew means "defecating where one eats"? Good! Why would you say otherwise? It was quite confusing!

I can assure you, it is a common enough saying. Even over here in Australia.

It's meant to sound gross.

It is understood to not be literal. In fact, the saying is: "Don't s*** where you eat." It has no mention of sex at all. It's very much a metaphor. Although one can also take it as literal advice on separating one's, er, latrine facilties from one's kitchen. As literal advice goes, it's pretty good.

Given that I was heavily invested in the show because it was really well done (excluding most of season four, of course), I’m not sure there’s a difference.

I don't think there is either. But there's a niggling part of me saying "You enjoy it so much, are you sure you're giving it fair and reasonable criticism?"

But I promise, the only person I am being uncharitable too is myself. It's a thing I do. It's probably not healthy.

Person of Interest had a very good ending.
Came here to say this. John Reese got a new life from Harold Finch, and repaid him exactly in the end. As he said, he was dead when Harold found him, and in giving him a job, he gave him a new purpose which he was now able to fulfill in a satisfying way. And I was worried about the series because I didn't like the way Taraji P. Henson just got dropped abruptly.
