Pathfinder 1E Two-weapon fighting with shield build?

Looking to build a two-weapon fighting character using a shield as one of the weapons. What do you recommend (feats, races, archetypes, etc...)? Has anyone played such a character and enjoyed it?

I would probably build around a two shield basher build. Take the weapon and shield weapon style to gain early access to Shield Master (lvl 6), and fight with no TWF penalty with two bashing heavy adamantine shields. If you take the time to buff (say with lead blades), I recall that each of them did 2d6 damage.

Best part, you benefit from a really good shield bonus to AC as well.

Ranger should work as well. A ranger can bypass some of the Dex requirements on TWF, but has less armor and less feats. Overall the fighter is probably better in a fight but the ranger gets other ranger goodies.

If you can somehow afford it, paladin/Cavaliers using TWF get a lot out of their smite/challenge, but the feat and stat requirements makes this nigh impossible.

Thanks for the great input, both of you. I'm looking at possible iconic characters for a product my company is working on. I thought I would see what people are interested in playing. I haven't explored Paladin builds with this yet. I'll probably make a few of each class and see what I can come out with. The two shield basher could actually make for some really cool artwork too!

Thanks for the suggestions!
