I hope these are more durable than the Pathfinder minis. Those break too easily.

Seriously, though, those are some very impressive-looking minis.

Having seen a few WizKids concepts before, those look like the digital sculpts and not finished mini. Expect the paint masters to be a step down in quality and the finished to be another step down.

Sounds like packaging similar to Pathfinder Battles.

Yeah, I agree; and they look better than WizKids Pathfinder minis. I'm really excited about this announcement, because I have only something like 500-600 minis, which is not a lot in my books. I'll gladly hand out my hard-earned money to WoTC!

(and I don't care if the boosters are randomized or not; I just hope the set contains at least 50-60 sculpts, and that there will be other sets announced in the future)

Wizkids did an AMA on Reddit earlier to day

All good questions, some of which we can answer at this time, some of which we can't. The D&D RPG line have a combination of visible and blind packaging, much like our other RPG line

Our Attack Wing D&D game will be configured very much like our Star Trek: Attack Wing game, with a box set and stand alone visible figures.

Our initial release will support the first D&D storyline arc from Wizards of the Coast. We haven't started development on the second set yet.

I find "Storyline Arc" to be interesting. Will WotC be doing APs?
