Ultimate Combat Ninja playtest

I see people complain that they get Bastard Sword proficiency, but I'd rather have the Rogue's rapier -- you can finesse the latter.

Rapier really doesn't fit a ninja. I think the Bastard Sword profiency is largely because the Bastard Sword is analogous to a Katana, and there's lots of contention about whether there was ever a real ninja-to, or if katana would have been used.

I just can't imagine a ninja prancing around and pulling a D'Artagnan, waving around a whipcord thin needle like sword designed for dueling.

ll probably take the base ninja and rewrite it. Probably use wisdom as the primary stat for ki pool like the monk so those two classes can better mesh. Then you might actually be able to make a ninja with some martial arts rather than Paizo's metagame attempt to ensure the monk isn't a viable multiclass option with the monk. Even though it should be.

Multiclass monk/ninja characters use either Charisma or Wisdom to calculate their ki pools, chosen by the player at the point where they multiclass. (It's in the description of the ki pool.) Other ki abilities still use the separate stats for things like calculating save DCs (for stunning fist or the ki block ninja trick, for instance) but the base pool unifies under a single stat.
