Unconventional fantasy setting

The local larping scene is in a slow and steady decline. Our potential players are made of 2 main categories :

1. Already have a steady larp and consider attending a second one.
2. Olders players out of the scene and who wants to come back.

We're not aiming for players new to the hobby, at least not at first. They are a lot harder to reach than existing players.

In either case, potential players are hard to motivate to give a new larp a try. There's also a group dynamic going. Players rarely drives ~1 hour alone. So it's either a group that all comes or none at all. If one member of the group is too cheap to get a new costume, it might cost us the group.

I do like Eberron, but it's a little too mainstream for what I'm looking for.

I do like Eberron, but it's a little too mainstream for what I'm looking for.

Then Exalted may be the setting for you. Living locations! Pure chaos! (literally - it surrounds all of creation, which is flat and 4 sided) Elemental poles! Your player characters are living incarnations of the sun's power! Your enemies are everything from oppressive Dragonborn slavemasters (who currently rule the world) to insane servants of dead gods to aforementioned beings of pure chaos and the living locations!

Ridiculous, over the top, insane.

That not your cup of tea? Why even do fantasy? You might as well play Paranoia, Citizen! Root out traitors! (they're everywhere - you're probably one yourself) Test strange and dangerous new devices! (Instruction manuals are beyond your security clearance, citizen) Hunt down unregistered mutants from cloning tank malfunctions! (Your clone isn't a mutant, is it citizen?) Die? Come back as another clone up to 5 times! And if you die even more than that (this happens frequently, citizen) you will be remembered as another troubleshooter takes your place.
