Some of the rares in that set look stunning (Iron Golem, Marut, Mounted Drow, amd especially the Roper).

*sigh* I'm out of shelf space as it IS...

It looks like a really nice set. There are a lot of figures I would like to have out of there. Looks like I may be buying a few packs of minis this season!

Actually, my favourite thing about this set is that the large minis that RPGers will most likely want multiples of (winter wolf, ankheg, dire bat, large skeleton, etc) are uncommons, and therefore won't break the bank to collect. Unlike the hezrou, red slaad, vrock, bone devil, erinyes, displacer beast, frost giant, dire boar, etc, etc from previous sets. Plus the fact that the winter wolf is a nice substitute for the (expensive rare from several sets ago) dire wolf, and it looks like WotC may actually be learning from their feedback a little. On the down side, it looks like everyone who buys the set will be stuck with a wheelbarrowload of sundry drow, but hopefully some of them at least will be tradeable...

Sigh, and my SO has indicated she doesn't want me buying more minis...I hate to disappoint her.

From looking at the figs:

Balor: Gets a 10 on the very cool scale.
Ankheg, Roper, and Winter Wolf: What took them so long?
Dwarf Ancestor: Anybody know what this is? I've never seen it before.
Iron Golem: Cool mini, but the eye makes me think, "By your command!"
Angelic Avenger: Chainmail bikini!
Swarm of Spiders: Interesting idea -- I guess we can expect more swarms in the future?

Holy cow, these look great.

WotC is, in my opinion, doing better and better with each new set. Some of the minis here blow me away, especially the iron golem, loyal earth elemental, marut, roper, ankheg and balor!

It's the best set yet. Wow. I almost hate that WotC does this. I feel so compelled to buy the damn things when they look nice. I don't care too much about having multiples, but i love a well-crafted mini. That hunched giant looks sorta like the Fomorian from giants of Legend.

My FLGS should have some cases in today or tomorrow, so it looks like I'll be opening packs of Underdark minis this weekend! The only downside is I'm supposed to be saving money for X-Mas presents...I think I can make the finances work...

These things just keep getting better and better. Normally I hate the "NPC" ones, but even Artemis Entreri looks great. And since I've recently discovered the joy of buying the minis individually online, I'm really happy that some of the best ones aren't rares.

edit - Just realized there was a dire bat in there! I need that for my druid.
