Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana:Are they revealing limitations in the 5th edition system?

Whatever you want to call it, the UAs don't have it. *shrug*

If it's "innovation", the UA have it. The Artificer is a fundamentally different class from what has come before, for an example among many. Many of the subclasses have particularly innovative aspects. The UA feats demonstrated innovation as well, they introduced new mechanics and completely new takes on old mechanics (making both dice matter with adv/disadvantage).

If it's "imagination" then I suppose anyone could claim that "there isn't enough of it" because that is pretty much a meaningless subjective claim. "More imagination" in this context (a game about imagining being in an imaginary world) is a pointless thing to ask for. More "strange" or more "dark" etc are almost as subjective, but they have some useful meaning at least and could be constructive.

One book a year IS moderation.

Maybe you got moderation and minimum mixed up.

LOL!!!!

Explain how this is "neck breaking".

You do realize that not everyone has lots of money to spend on their hobby, right? If someone only has $50-$100 to spend a year then it could be hard to keep up with the 2 AP/1other book. Don't assume that everyone has lots of money to spend on hobbies.

You want to see minimum? Look at HackMaster, their core books released less than 1 a year. Look at Exalted, the core book came out just over a year ago and the first supplementary book for the game hasn't even got a release date yet (but that's because Onyx Path don't do release dates or schedules, they work on stuff until it is done and then it releases).
