Unique religious titles in the game?

Knightfall

World of Kulan DM
I've been trying to come up with a religious title to bestow on the cleric in my current game, but I don't want just your basic religious title like "bishop" or the like. I'm looking for something more unique.

So, it made me wonder who else has created unique religious titles for D&D. (The best example I know of is Sep's game, in which he uses "Alma", but i don't want to copy that.) If you have an example then post it here.

I want to use something that refers to the cleric being made a saint of the pantheon, but I don't just want to use "saint". That's boring, IMO. His official title, in Common would be Saint of the North.

I've been looking towards Old Norse as my guide, and this is what I've found...

trúa (tru-ah)
verb; infinitive of <trúa (ð)> believe, trust, have faith in

So, if I use this word as the cleric's title, then it can be interpreted as "Have Faith In" followed by the character's name.

Opinions?

From one of my game's churches:

(head priest) Ecclesiarch
(lieutenant) Ecclesiveque
(rank & file) Ecclesiappui

(free saint) Eccelibre

Rob,

I agree with PC/Kevin. It might help us understand/add more to your list IF we knew something about the game's divinities or just the deity in question.

What's the religion? I love titles that reflect the God, such as Postulate for a priest of Mathematics and Knowledge.
The deity is called Jalivier, here's the basics...

JALIVIER
Defender of the Light, God of the Sun, The Soldier of Light, The Star over the Mountain, The Sun’s Champion

Intermediate Deity
Symbol: Sun rising over a mountain range
Home Plane: Celestia
Godly Realm: Citadel of Light
Alignment: Lawful good
Portfolio: Healing, light, mountains, stars, sun, war
Worshipers: Dwarves, elementalists (earth), fighters, healers, monks, paladins, soldiers of light, some druids, any good citizen of Kulanspace
Cleric Alignments: LG, NG, LN
Domains: Good, Healing, Light, Mountain, Stellar, Sun, War
Favored Weapon: Longsword

This deity is part of a pantheon known as the North Gods. The pantheon is strongly tied to barbaric traditions. The highest members of the church are known as High Lightservants, but I want something more "unique" for this cleric.

The character's name is Argo Flameheart.

I'd go with Lorents.

Seriously, Trua is good and the fact that it has meaning is doubly good. I do similarly imc. My bastardized terms from the Old English word meaning holy: holy men are called Haelig; holy women, Haeliga; and I use Haeligae as the plural.

Howse this:

Sol'son, lowest title
Sol'brother
Sol'father mid rank
Sol'Bringer
Sol'Shield
Sol'Sword
Sol'Might
Sol'Blessed
Sol'Eternum Highest rank.

This work for you Rob?

The priests of my Sun God use titles such as Clarion, Radiance, Purifier, and the like.

Tied to barbaric traditions, I can see "The Bloodsun," which is the name for the first reddish ray of sun that shines over the horizon on the first day after the Spring equinox -- when, traditionally, blood sacrifices are made. "The Bloodsun" might apply to a war saint, of course.

These aren't really titles in the sense of Priest, Bishop, Arch Bishop, Cardinal, etc., but some from Islam:

Salah al Din - Righteousness of Religion...better known in the west as Saladin.

Saif al Din - Sword of the Faith (Religion)

Saifullah - Sword of God (Allah)

More like "the Lion Hearted" or "Hammer of the Scots" in use.

Thanks,
Rich
