Here's an unpopular opinion for the day:
I don't hate AI-generated art because of my principles; I hate AI-generated art because it looks terrible.

Unpopular opinion (not mine, but one that an artist friend who was watching the show with me shared while watching Secret Invasion):

Artist: I really like that opening sequence.

Snarf: Really? Did you know it was AI generated?

Artist: Nope. But at least it's different, and interesting.

Snarf: Huh, I've heard a lot of people complain about them...

Artist: Compared to what?


Anyway, after watching the show, the Artist further refined their opinion, and stated that no matter what, the opening sequence was probably the best part of the show.

Not sure I disagree.

But my neighbor kiddy corner three houses down is residing his house. Started last week Thursday still hammering away today as I type. We played Maxwell Silver Hammer, ...And Justice For All and Escape just to drown out this guy. Admittedly he picked a nice color blue siding if I had to guess its almost a "Blue Angels" Blue. I've been in 85% of the houses on my street which is a semi-circle, and they are all the same. Built right after WW2, 1947. They're all 900 sq ft, dude should have been done 4 days ago. I think I have contractor shell shock

The Warcraft movie was great and it required a sequel.

If only the American audience enjoyed it as much as the Chinese audience we could have had some more of that franchise.

The output of fantasy television from China in the past few years has been breathtaking and most Chinese fantasy is more "D&D" than anything that's ever had the D&D logo on it, even including the 80s cartoon and the recent movie.

Some things are subjective preferences, and some things are objective facts, and the difference between those two things isn't based on which side of the argument you're on. When discussing matters of personal preference, adults shouldn't have to preface each and every single statement they make with "IMO"-- it should be obvious from the context-- and, likewise, objective demonstrable facts don't become matters of opinion just because they're inconvenient to your position.

The endpoint of reskinning mechanics to fit concepts that aren't reflected by them and and the pursuit of "rule of fun" or "rule of cool" as design axioms isn't player empowerment or narrative freedom. It's meaningless and unsatisfying slop, literally the "cops & robbers" example copy-and-pasted from every "what is RPG?" section ever written. Game mechanics have to reflect (however imperfectly) an underlying game reality for game rulings to be sensible and consistent, they have to reflect actions within that game reality in order for those actions to form a narrative.

Games and stories alike are exciting and rewarding because of the tension of not knowing what happens next. Games achieve this through the application of the rules, and stories achieve this through the authorship of the storyteller. Take away both, and what are you left with?

Frankly, a lot of it is available on Netflix or just on youtube with some searching.

I'm rather enjoying Mysterious Lotus Casebook right now, one of my personal favorites was Sword Snow Stride from a few years ago. The Blood of Youth from 2022 was pretty approachable and high spectacle.

Currently watching The Longest Promise, which also stars one of the leads from The Untamed in a very different role. Word of Honor, Who Rules the World, Ashes of Love... all on Netflix and I haven't scratched the surface of either their whole selection or the ones I've already marked for My List.

Not only does Jupiter Ascending rule, but so does Speed Racer.

Say what you will about Cloud Atlas (and you could say a ton), but I don't think you could rightly say that the Wachowski sisters have made a single bad movie without the word "Matrix" in the title.
