D&D General Unseelie Court members

Tessarael

Adventurer
I have been hunting for a comprehensive list of members of the Unseelie Court, but I have found none. So, I put together my own. I am posting this here for feedback, thoughts, and suggestions for any candidates that I have missed. This list is for a Forgotten Realms Underdark setting with Feydark crossover. I have borrowed from different Feydark settings to expand the list. You can edit and modify this list to fit your world and timeline as you see fit, of course.

Unseelie (Dusk/Gloaming/Twilight/Winter) Court members

  • Ceithlenn Chaisfhiaclach of the Crooked Teeth, the Witch of Fates: She is the archfey widow of King Balor of the Fomorians, who was slain by Lugh. She is worshiped by some hags and some Fomorian women. She is a seer that often foretells doom. She is known for gleefully bringing low the powerful and proud, but kindly raising up the virtuous from wretched conditions.
  • Celadaine, the Black Knight, serves as the Formorian king Malabog’s lieutenant and diplomat to the Unseelie Court.
  • Dallah Thaun (Brandobaris): Halfling goddess of smugglers, spies, and thieves. She is also worshiped by Darklings, and small mischievous fey found in the Underdark such as Fremlins, Jermlaine, and Snyads. Note: I have merged Brandobaris with Dallah Thaun, as their portfolios are very similar. You may wish to keep them separate, and use Brandobaris instead, but I feel that Dallah Thaun is a better match for the Unseelie.
  • Dubh Catha (meaning Dark Crow, or Black Battle): Archfey, banished with his people, the Darklings, from the Feywild. He has strong ties to the Shadowfell (Plane of Shadows). He has power over shadows and twilight boundaries.
  • Erlking (Cerunnos): He is the Master of the Wild Hunt, an Archfey, and a member of the Celtic Pantheon. He is deeply in love with the Maiden of the Moon, and goes to great efforts to please her, but she finds his bloodthirsty methods distasteful. He leads the hunt to kill evildoers and evil lycanthropes. He is worshiped by Druids, Firbolgs, and some Warlocks make pacts with him.
  • Kannoth, Eladrin Archfey Vampire Lord, ruler of Cendriane in the Feywild. He is worshiped by a bloodthirsty cult lurking beneath the earth, and has an army of undead soldiers, which could refer to the Darakhul True Ghouls. He is allied with Erlking (Cerunnos), as Kannoth used to ride with the Wild Hunt.
  • Maiden of the Moon, an aspect of Selûne: She is an Archfey hunter with a silver sword that is benevolent towards mortals. She spends this time waging a private war against evil lycanthropes and other savage killers.
  • Neifion, Lord of Bats. He dwells in Darroch Castle in the Feywild, where he was once imprisoned by the warlock Japheth Donard.
  • Prince of Frost, Lord of the Long Night: Mightiest of the Winter Fey faction, he dwells in the Feywild in the Vale of Long Night. He seeks to cover the mortal world in ice and eternal winter, and as such is an ally of Shar, Mistress of the Night. He is the son of Oberon and Titania. He hates the Raven Queen, who cast his beloved Sharaea and her mortal lover into the future to evade the Prince of Frost’s wrath. Strictly speaking, he is a member of the Winter Court, not the Unseelie Court, but the two courts are often combined.
  • Prince of Hearts: An extremely handsome matchmaker, who delights in meddling in mortal lives. He is dedicated to gallantry, beauty, love, and lust. He is leader of the Knights of Love.
  • Psilofyr the Spore Lord, benign archfey deity of the Myconids, patron of fungi. His followers teach renewal through decomposition. He is an enemy of Lolth. Strictly speaking, he is a member of the Court of Stars.
  • Raven Queen: Her portfolio is memories and the souls of the Shadar-Kai, who she reincarnates in the Shadowfell when they die. She is worshiped by most of the Shadar-Kai. She dwells in the Shadowfell with the Shadar-Kai in the Fortress of Memories.
  • Queen (Mab) of Air and Darkness (Auril the Frostmaiden): Ruler of the Unseelie Court. She is opposed by the Elven Seldarine pantheon and the Seelie Court.
  • Zybilna the Fey Queen (aka Iggwilv the Witch Queen, Tasha the Archmage, and the Witch of Dreams): Adopted daughter of Baba Yaga. She lives in the Palace of Heart's Desire in her home plane of Prismeer, and has her own Domain of Delight in the Feywild. She is the lover and enemy of the Demon Lord Graz’zt, with whom she has sired multiple children. Warlocks and others seeking to make pacts for power follow her. She is a demonologist, and author of the seven volumes of the Demonomicon of Iggwilv. She was eventually betrayed by the three daughters of Baba Yaga: Skabatha, Bavlorna, and Endelyn - members of the Hourglass Coven. As the Witch of Dreams, she is leader of the shadowy group known as the Eladrin in Black, who are dedicated to preventing aberrant incursions into the Feywild.

Former Unseelie Court members

  • Nintra Siotta, Princess of Shadow Glass, was also once a member of the Unseelie Court. She sought to replace Queen Mab. She has been imprisoned since the 6th century in an extradimensional prison linked with The Scrivener's Tale, a book penned by the mortal elf Zyrian of Phalorm, known as the Scrivener.
  • Stag King, ruler of part of the Ashenwood forest in Rashemen. He was killed in 1479 DR by Durthan vampiresses.

Fomorians

For a broader list of Fomorian leaders, see leaders of some of their key locations in the Feydark. The most important in terms of worship in the Underdark are below.
  • Karontor (Balor of the Evil Eye), giant god of disfigurement, self-loathing, and hatred, particularly of giantkind. He is patron of the Formorians and the Verbeeg. Karontar is one of the most hated foes of Clangeddin Silverbeard, the Dwarven god of battle. Balor, once King of the Formorians, is in fact Karontor.
    • He is a lesser deity, significantly more powerful than most Archfey. He is not associated directly with the Unseelie Court, though Ceithlenn represents his interests there, from time to time.
  • Malabog, the king of the Fomorian giants in the Feywild. He is paid tribute to by the Fomorians, and worshiped by Cyclopes, Quicklings, and Trolls.
    • In my timeline, he has not been killed by adventurers, which occurred in 1479 DR in the official timeline. Likewise, his assault on New Sharandar in the Feywild has not occurred as yet.
    • Celadaine, the Black Knight, a fallen Moon Elf, is Malabog’s lieutenant. He once opposed the Unseelie Court, but they corrupted and twisted him.
