I enjoyed that a lot. Well done, good actors for the characters, nice costumes.

Where in the world did you get the panther footage?

The only thing I'd say is that Drizz't's hair looks a little too thick and ropy. The makeup for him was very well done, and his swordplay was very cool.

My only complaint is the sword play. Its really sloppy in a lot of areas, and if I was making a movie about Drizzt in any capacity, this would have to be spot on which it sadly isn't. Drizzt needs to move like those blades are natural extensions of his body and the actor looked really clumsy with them.

That aside, you did an amazing job.

Guenhwyvar is 600lbs, but real panthers are like 90-130lbs with a very... floppy way of moving. A real black panther would have been highly disappointing.

Instead we rotoscoped some stock footage of female lions, color corrected them to make them black. Even then it still looked like a black lion, so we took photos of panther eyes and noses from various angles and tracked them onto the lion's face.

The end result was a 600lb panther that fits the paintings of Guenhwyvar fairly well ;)

It's funny that you mention that video. Not one person involved in the production had even the slightest bit of experience with swords or blades of any kind.

That video is one of the ones we used to learn how to flourish the swords! :D

I've been fencing and assisting a friend of mine who does stage combat for many years so to me it shows. Salvatore mentions this a lot in his books, it's all about the footwork. The scene with Drizzt and Entreri wailing away at each other in particular bugged me as they are not putting any weight behind their blows.

I wouldn't worry about it though as I think I'm the only one on this thread that complained about it. And with what you were working with you did a fantastic job. Overall, it looks awesome. I'm especially impressed with Guen. She looked amazing. Hats off to you man!

Hehe. Yeah, that scene was filmed less than 5 feet away from the edge of a 150ft cliff. There's no way anybody was going to be moving their feet in that shot.

Great fan work, guys. Really awesome stuff for a labor of love without a budget. And, yes, already better than the other "official" D&D movies. ;)

It sure is. It's the best D&D movie so far, especially considering how horrendous the Dragonlance movie was. I want back the part of my life I lost watching that tripe.
