Updating 3.0 Psions to 3.5

Oh, I think I agree with you completely here... They really were being silly when they assigned powers to attributes. I can think of half a dozen reasons why the metabolism powers should have been CON based (thematic and practical) while telekinetic powers should have been STR based.

Not least is that the metabolism powers are more about mixing things up in HTH combat, and that is where you really NEED the CON :)

I was more concerned with:

A: Undead do not have constitution scores
+
B: Undead cannot use psychometabolism powers since they are not alive

equaled:

Undead had a discipline [psychometabolism] tied to STR that they could not use and another discipline [psychokinesis] tied to an ability that they had no score in.

Hehe, that sucked in general.

Psychometabolism wasn't usable. Psychokinesis ended up dependant on Charisma.

It's in either the errata or the clarifications, but still frustrating :).

In all, the at glance appearance seems that updating Psions from 3.0 to 3.5 will involve a great retcon level.

Personally I would swap these two around. 'Porting seems to be about imagining yourself somewhere else and that seems to be more a function of Int. 'Metabolism seems to reflect your strength of will so seems to more related to Wis. IMO, of course.

Well, of course you could also say that the more knowledge you have of your body, the better you are able to alter it. Or something like that...
