"Upgrading" soon, advice needed

Update: While I haven't completely ruled out getting a replacement Palm Tungsten E2, or one of the Acers or HPs, I did take the advice of those who recommended that I explore the iPod Touch's apps.

There is one called Brush or some such that was recently picked as one of the best apps available...it's quite impressive! Even if I do buy that E2, I might just buy a Touch w/Brush as well.

So thank you all for the suggestions!

The Mac Tablet did come true, of course: the iPad. Here's David Pogue's take on the iPad if anyone is still following this thread.

I honestly think you'd be quite happy with the iTouch. My former co-workers love theirs.

Edit: My co-workers has one of the Nokia internet devices. It has an awesome screen and Linux command line capability (probably not a big plus for most people though). The problem: apps. And it does seem quite expensive for what it does.

I'm probably not going to be an early adopter of the iPad, though I can definitely see myself owning one some time in the futurd.

As for the iTouch- again, I'm thinking that I'll pick one of those up, perhaps this year.

However, at this point, it looks as if I'll be getting both a smartphone AND a hand-me-down underused PDA that is a step up from mine. As it turns out, both my phone and my PDA are dying, so I'm probably going to get a Droid (I'm on Verizon).

I'm not going to like that monthly internet package charge, but for what I'm doing these days, it will probably pay some dividends in the long run.

The Droid is awesome. My former supervisor has one and he loves it. The only con is Android does not have as many apps for it, compared to iTouch/iPhone.

I'd get one myself, but I'm cheap. Since you're busy professional I'd imagine you should be able to write off at least some of it as a business expense.
